It’s finally starting to sink in that we are not in Ar-Kansas anymore (that was way too cheezy).
We are settling in down here at Ocean Isle Beach, and have had a beautiful week. I smile every morning when i see the sun sparkling off the ocean. Each time we go for a walk, Amelia finds a shell that is prettier than the last.
This is, by far, the best time of year at the beach.

Wow, after 2 years of photographing the dogs at the local animal shelter, we have seen our share of cuties, but Sampson can give them all a run for their money. Amelia’s brother Chip, and his girlfriend Kristin just adopted a puggle (that’s a Pug and Beagle mix) and we stopped by their apartment in Charlotte for the afternoon to hang out and shoot some photos. Sampson is quite the ham, which made our job that much easier.

Nothing makes us prouder that watching our nieces and nephew succeed, and this weekend was one of those times.
Our nieces, Cates and Sanders have been competing in horseback riding for the last 2 years, but because we were in Arkansas, we never had a chance to watch them ride. This weekend was the final show of the season, and Sanders won a First Place blue ribbon in her class, while Cates took home a First, Second, and Fifth, AND finished in First Place for the ENTIRE SEASON. She gets her name engraved on the Championship Plate, and will get to hang it on her wall for the next year. CONGRATS!!!
