I met Amy and David recently to take their engagement photos. We lucked out with some wonderful morning weather before the afternoon showers rolled through. They are the cutest couple, and we had a great time meandering around some of their favorite places in downtown Charleston.

I had the pleasure of photographing the Sloan family as they enjoyed their bi-annual family beach trip. I couldn’t help but think how lucky they are to get to see all of their family every other year at such a beautiful beach. It reminded me of when my family used to go to Seabrook Island for our beach vacation. I think the most marvelous thing about those 2 islands is the ability to take casual bike rides on beach cruisers everywhere. Reminds me of when the world was so big and we (my brother and sister, and cousins) would go exploring throughout the island on our own little adventures, freedom was ours.

It’s getting close to the final week before classes start up again at the Charleston Center for Photography. We are both really excited about some of the classes we will teaching this 6 weeks! Dan is going to be back in the dark room smelling chemicals as he teaches a black and white wet lab class and a pinhole photography class. Check out some of his earlier pinhole work here.
I will be introducing youth and teens to the digital photography world, while also teaching a photography lighting class and a wedding photography class.
There are plenty of other classes and 1-day workshops available as well, so come check out the exciting world of photography!

We had a great time at the opening of Bob Croslin’s exhibit at the Charleston Center for Photography on Friday night. Amelia was shooting portraits of guests in the studio during the show while I was shooting pictures of the event. DJ Natty Heavy kept the music going all night long (including playing Camp Lo which I hadn’t heard since high school, and dearly missed), and KunFewZion Crew tore up the dance floor.
