We have a lot of reasons to be thankful, but one of the greatest thanks we have is being able to head up the mountains of NC to Windy Hill and stay at the family farm. It is such a gorgeous spot filled with peace. The family always has a grand time enjoying the good food, feeding the animals, and of course playing with our nieces
. The best part of all might be the lack of internet and cellular phone service; now that is bliss! So, until we return to the real world, here is a look at Windy Hill…Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and THANK YOU for watching our journey!

Our wonderful stylist friends Nicole Hyer Geary and Lisa A. Burson decided that taking a model to the Coastal Carolina Fair all dressed up would be a great spot for a photo shoot, we of course agreed! Thanks to model Elise Yardley Cobb for being such a great sport…not only did she eat a giant corn dog, she battled the cold like a champ too. It was the first time I have been to the fair and been a part of the group everyone else was staring at, haha;)

Beth Pless got married in her home town of Mooresville, North Carolina, but went to school at the College of Charleston. So, she really wanted to take her bridal portraits at the Cistern and around the battery by the water. We had a gorgeous day to work with, and a lovely bride-to-be;).

Aster Hall is having an event called “The Project” tonight from 6-9 pm at their space on King Street to help raise money for the Charleston Center for Photography. The event features large scale graffiti murals painted on site by artists Ishmael and Des, new works by Ishmael, live music provided by The Healing and Malignant Productions, cocktails from Social Wine Bar, and hors d’oeuvres from Virginia’s Restaurant and J. Paulz. Tickets are $8, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Center for Photography which is in danger of closing.

This past Saturday Sara Harold and Jeff Hollenbeck got married outside of the log cabin at the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, South Carolina. Sara and Jeff are two of the sweetest people I’ve met, the love they have for one another is not hard to miss! The intimate ceremony was led by Sara’s sister Shannon under a large oak tree while the sun set over the water. Sara painted a tree that was used for the programs and throughout the decorations with the words “All you need is love” across the bottom. They even had little pieces of colored paper for people to write messages to them for a time capsule for their 1st, 5th, 10th, and 25th anniversaries:). I won’t spoil my message(s) from the time capsule, but I wish you both many more days filled with love!
