This past Saturday the South Carolina Stingrays partnered with the The Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to fight breast cancer in the Lowcountry. They hosted the 4th annual Pink in the Rink. The ice was pink, the hockey sticks were pink, even the jersey’s were pink! Fun was had by all, and it was a full house with a record crowd of 6,801. Here a couple of photos, to see more visit the Komen Lowcountry gallery collection HERE
We often get asked what goes in to photographing a wedding, a portrait, or anything really;). It is quite a loaded question, so we thought we might take it one step at a time…Once a week we will post a photography tip. If you have any questions you want answered feel free to let us know. We hope this will be a learning experience for everyone involved:)
Wedding Photography Tip #1 : Look for a photographer whose images move you.
We know it can be difficult sometimes to express exactly what you like or dislike about a photo, but no matter how much or how little you know about photography it has an effect on you when you see it. It may be a sense of happiness, nostalgia, humor, or any other emotion you can think of…
These photos will stay with you for the rest of your lives, and hopefully with your children and your grandchildren, and so on. So, we think it is imperative you find images that speak to you. Take your time looking over a variety of peoples’ work. The images should take you somewhere. Photography is our favorite form of communication, and it’s important that you relate to the message your wedding photographer is putting out there. There are a lot of different styles of work, as with any form of communication or art. Try and find a photographer whose images speak to your heart, that is when you know its the right fit.

The marvelous Marcus Amaker has been working long and hard on the upcoming premiere of Charleston Scene magazine. It debuts March 11, 2010 and will be in full color and 60+ pages. It will cover local theatre, music, the arts, movies, poetry, and food. We were honored to photograph the cover story for the launch issue. Marcus put together a short preview of the photos in this video. Be on the lookout, should be pretty amazing…
After our spectacular engagement session with Lindy + Jack, they asked us to design their thank you cards. Inspired by our holiday cards this year, they wanted to roll with the Polaroid theme:) It was a hard decision, but we narrowed down the photos to 3 for the front of the card. Their colors are light gray and Kelly green, so Dan incorporated that in to the font and background. Then, Lindy wanted a cute kissing photo for the back of the card, with inside left blank for lots of thank you space. Here is what we came up with…
Front of the 5x7 folded card
Back of the 5x7 folded card (inside left blank for writing)
If you are interested, we have the ability to custom design cards and we have some templates to work with too. Just let us know what you are looking for, and we’ll make it happen;)
We were so honored to be able to capture Kelli + Eric while Kelli was pregnant with baby Zoe, and even more honored to be able to capture baby Zoe just after she made it safely in to this crazy world. I don’t think I have seen a happier family! I find it marvelous how easily a baby can make you smile. Doesn’t even matter that you don’t get a lot of sleep, the world just gets brighter:)
"The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but not the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new." ~Rajneesh
