Our friends over at Luceo Images have a weekly “You Guess It” game where they post photos throughout the week and you guess the theme. It is quite addictive, and SUPER fun! Plus, it you haven’t made it to their site yet you can see all of their Amazing work.
We are the theme pickers this week, so get on over and play! Who knows, you might even win a prize:)

The Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® held their Survivors Celebration March 7th at the Embassy Suites in North Charleston. This was our second year photographing the event, and it is always such an honor to be a part of it. The guest speaker was SC Poet Laureate, Marjorie Wentworth. She read some of her beautiful poetry and signed the books each of the survivors received. There was tea and tasty treats, Bonnie Hancock was honored with the 2010 Charlene Daughtrey Award, and the celebration culminated with the beautiful candle lighting ceremony. If you would like to view all of the photos from the event please visit the full gallery HERE.

Many times we are asked what you should wear when having your portrait taken. There are a couple of basic guidelines…
We suggest steering clear of clothing that has any kind of lettering on it. This can be very distracting, and most of the time is one of the first things your eye is drawn too in an image. Too much pattern can be a bit distracting, especially if more than one person in the photograph is wearing patterns.
One of the most important things to take note of is what the photo is for…family portrait, personal portrait, corporate head shot…because that can change the look you want to achieve. In general we suggest wearing whatever you feel most comfortable in. You look your best when you feel at ease. Solid colors are always nice, and complimentary colors are even better (such as red and blue, purple and yellow or green and pink). It also depends on what your background will be, you might not want to be wearing heels on the beach;)
Black is always slimming, along with darker colors. White will always be the first thing you see aside from letters.
It is also nice to have a couple of different outfits so you can get a variety of looks from the shoot. We do this a lot with engagement shoots, because we go to different locations such as the beach and downtown.
In the end, rules are always meant to be broken, but just remember to wear what makes you feel like the best, most beautiful you;)

Monica Campbell and Adolphus Belk, Jr. had a gorgeous ceremony this past Saturday at the Woodlands Inn in Summerville SC. After meeting them for the first time and hearing Adolphus quote “The Simpsons”, I knew they were going to be a ton of fun! They are so happy together, and watching them interact fills you with joy. After the beautiful ceremony on the croquet lawn, everyone moved over to the Pavilion where the party began. A friend from college came out to DJ, and the dance floor was packed all night! I wish Monica and Adolphus lots of laughter as they start their new journey together!
