We are always excited to see the new edition of the Charleston Weddings Magazine hit the newsstands, and even more excited when we see some of our photographs published inside! The summer 2010 issue as lots of real life weddings, some budget and DIY advice, along with some vintage gowns that will make anyone want to hop in a wedding dress;)
One of our photos we shot at the Charleston Fashion Week 2009 Bridal Couture Show was used with their article on the 2010 Bridal Couture Show.
We were most excited to see one of our photos chosen for their Memorable Moments section, where they feature photographs that capture a fun and unique moment from the wedding day. Cindi and Carl’s wedding at Lowndes Grove was nothing but fun, and we really love how Carl is catching the falling flower petals as they walk out as husband and wife.
And last, but not least, another image from our 2009 CFW shoot that has been used for the 2010 advertising campaign for the 2010 CFW.

I taught another Studio 101 workshop at the Charleston Center for Photography. It was the perfect day for a studio workshop (rainy and yucky outside), great model-Jennifer Tokarev, and 6 wonderful students. We started off the day learning about some basic lighting terms and patterns. Then we finished up with each student having a turn at photographing the lovely Jennifer. Here is a photo from each of my students; it’s always SO much fun to see what they come up with;) Special thanks to Jennifer, she always does an excellent job making everyone feel at ease and she’s gorgeous!

We like to start off the new year by reflecting on the last year. There were a lot of big changes for us in 2009…we started our new business, Dreamland Images, and moved to Charleston, South Carolina where we also began teaching photo classes at the Charleston Center for Photography. We became the official photographers for the Susan G. Komen Lowcountry Race for the Cure®. Dan turned the big 30! We traveled throughout SC, NC, GA, and even back to Arkansas photographing weddings and portraits. In between all of that we got to spend some quality time with family and friends throughout the Carolinas. We are super excited for all that 2010 will bring, and wish you all a Happy New Year! Our wonderful stylist friends Nicole Hyer Geary and Lisa A. Burson decided that taking a model to the Coastal Carolina Fair all dressed up would be a great spot for a photo shoot, we of course agreed! Thanks to model Elise Yardley Cobb for being such a great sport…not only did she eat a giant corn dog, she battled the cold like a champ too. It was the first time I have been to the fair and been a part of the group everyone else was staring at, haha;)
