A few weeks ago the Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® held their 2nd Annual Tie One On fundraiser. The evening commenced with a silent auction of artwork from Eye Level Art outside of the Daniel Island Club, and followed with a delectable dinner and keynote speaker Leslie Haywood. If you get the chance, check out ABC’s Lowcountry Live show today at 10:00 am. The Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Community Outreach coordinator, Lucy Spears and volunteer extraordinaire Leigh Danley will be on the show talking about some of the great things that Komen Lowcountry has and will be doing. Including the Tie One On fundraiser that is coming up this Thursday on Daniel Island.

The Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® held their Survivors Celebration March 7th at the Embassy Suites in North Charleston. This was our second year photographing the event, and it is always such an honor to be a part of it. The guest speaker was SC Poet Laureate, Marjorie Wentworth. She read some of her beautiful poetry and signed the books each of the survivors received. There was tea and tasty treats, Bonnie Hancock was honored with the 2010 Charlene Daughtrey Award, and the celebration culminated with the beautiful candle lighting ceremony. This past Sunday we had the privilege of photographing the The Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Survivors Celebration for the Lowcountry breast cancer survivors. It is such a wonderful event, and great way to honor and celebrate life! We tried something new this year, and brought along our photo booth…we’re pretty sure it was a hit and hopefully we’ll be taking it back again next year:) We’ll post more photos from the event soon, but for now here are couple from the booth…

This past Saturday the South Carolina Stingrays partnered with the The Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to fight breast cancer in the Lowcountry. They hosted the 4th annual Pink in the Rink. The ice was pink, the hockey sticks were pink, even the jersey’s were pink! Fun was had by all, and it was a full house with a record crowd of 6,801.
