Anna + Wes . Wilmington NC

This was a very meaningful wedding for me to photograph, because I have known Anna since high school.  We went to college together too, where she taught me how to pluck my eyebrows—thank you Anna!  Anna has always been such a wonderful woman with a kind soul.  She is gorgeous, and it was such an honor to be able to photograph her wedding day.  One of the reasons I love my job is because I get to record history as its happening, and it makes it all the more special when it is someone I have shared my own history with.  Wes is one lucky man, along with his sons Hunter and Avery who now have a new step-mom:).  I won’t embarrass both of us by bringing out some of the photographs from our high school “dance” parties (which mainly involved eating cake and a bit of treadmill action;), but there is still a collage of photos on a cork board in my closet back home decorated with our memories.  I guess I’ll have to add some of these to my collection now.  I love you Anna, and I wish you and Wes much laughter and joy in your adventure together!

Special thanks to all the vendors that made the day so beautiful!

Kate + Chris at Mingo Point Bay Kiawah Island resort

Kate and Chris had an intimate wedding with just a few close friends and family on Kiawah Island Resort.   The guys started off the wedding day festivities on the golf course at Oak Point, and the ladies headed over to the Sanctuary salon and spa.  The ceremony was at Mingo Point Bay, and it was stunning!  The weather couldn’t have been more pleasant, and the light was gorgeous.   The River City Dixieland Jazz Band carried everyone through the evening festivities, and even joined in on the dance floor.  The Lowcountry meal was simply delicious, and introduced a few northerners to some of the great southern delicacies.  After Mingo Point, the party moved over to the Turtle Point Clubhouse.  The dancing was fierce, and the porch created a relaxing setting for smoking cigars.   Honestly, if we had to get married again I think we would follow Kate and Chris’ plan to a tee.  It was a perfect wedding for a perfect couple.   Best wishes to Kate and Chris, and we hope you have many years of laughter!  Oh, and we miss Walter, so give him a hug for us;)

Annette and Wes ~ engagement session Folly Beach

Annette and Wes got engaged back in December, and are planning a wedding out in California where Annette grew up. They both work for the U.S. Coast Guard and wanted to have their engagement session at the beach. We decided to head out to Folly Beach for engagement photos. They love the ocean, so it worked out great;).  We are excited for them, and grateful for the work they do for our country.  Happy Fourth of July, and best wishes!

Cait + Bob ~ June 26, 2010

Cait and Bob got married at St. John’s Lutheran Church in downtown Charleston with a reception at the Legare-Waring House in Charles Towne Landing.  We have been looking forward to this wedding for quite some time, and knew it was going to be amazing!  It was a gorgeous day, and spectacular wedding as expected.  Cait and Bob are big history buffs, so they incorporated the history of Charleston in to their day.  The colors were black, white and Tiffany blue.  Stacey Fraunfelter of Red Letter Events did an amazing job putting everything together, and they even had tours of Charleston following the ceremony on the way to the reception!   There was a cigar roller at the reception, old farm tables to dine on, and 5 pies for dessert.  Truly a marvelous wedding, and we know Cait and Bob will be making history together for quite some time;).

Righchus

We had the pleasure of photographing Righchus, a local Charleston rap artist for the Charleston Scene magazine.   He works with Mark Berry, and they produce some really intriguing work.  He is a SUPER nice guy, and really enjoyed listening to Dan’s Peter Tosh and Jimi Hendrix records while we photographed him;).  The images ran in color, but we loved them in black + white too.  So, here is how they ran, and the monochrome below.  Check out the article on local Charleston rap artists too!
