Lauren + Carter got married and had their reception at The Creek Club at I’on in Mt. Pleasant, and the day was simply divine. I knew upon meeting Lauren that her wedding would be fun and carefree. Lauren + Carter are a perfect match, and I know that they are going to keep each other entertained for years to come. I’m curious to see how many more states they can add to their list;). Wishing them both lots of laughter and love on their new adventure together!

Amber + Caleb are some of the happiest people we have ever met! They are constantly smiling, and I don’t think they could be more in love. They are high school sweethearts and getting married this fall in Charleston after graduating from Winthrop University. They are dog lovers, as we are, and brought their cute pups Duke and Dank with them for part of the shoot:) They were great sports as we dragged them around downtown Charleston after playing around on Folly Beach, and we can’t wait to photograph their wedding in September!

2010 Survivors Celebration

The Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® held their Survivors Celebration March 7th at the Embassy Suites in North Charleston. This was our second year photographing the event, and it is always such an honor to be a part of it. The guest speaker was SC Poet Laureate, Marjorie Wentworth. She read some of her beautiful poetry and signed the books each of the survivors received. There was tea and tasty treats, Bonnie Hancock was honored with the 2010 Charlene Daughtrey Award, and the celebration culminated with the beautiful candle lighting ceremony. Monica + Adolphus 03.13.10

Monica Campbell and Adolphus Belk, Jr. had a gorgeous ceremony this past Saturday at the Woodlands Inn in Summerville SC. After meeting them for the first time and hearing Adolphus quote “The Simpsons”, I knew they were going to be a ton of fun! They are so happy together, and watching them interact fills you with joy. After the beautiful ceremony on the croquet lawn, everyone moved over to the Pavilion where the party began. A friend from college came out to DJ, and the dance floor was packed all night! I wish Monica and Adolphus lots of laughter as they start their new journey together!

Charleston Scene Polaroids

We decided to shoot Polaroids for some of the up and coming people featured in the 2 part series of Charleston Scene magazine’s launch issue. Since part of the magic of the Polaroid is watching the image appear right in your hand, we thought it would fun to watch it in a stop motion video. Thanks to Nick Jenkins and his spectacular music skills we put this little bit together. Hope you enjoy, and you can see the final Polaroid images below…

For those of you interested, we rigged the Polaroid so that we could use our own flash. We taped off most of the Polaroid flash, but left some open so that it could trigger our other 2 larger strobes. We used an alien bee to light the curtain and give it a spotlight look, and then we used our white lightning to light the subject. We also pulled out our Jimi Hendrix poster that is bigger than life size to use as a large fill card…thank goodness for Jimi;) Hope you all enjoy, and can’t wait to see what else Charleston Scene has in store for the Lowcountry!

Debut of Charleston Scene magazine

We were SO excited to get our newspaper today (and yes, we still have a subscription to the local newspaper) and check out the new Charleston Scene magazine! Marcus Amaker did an outstanding job, along with all the other contributors to the premiere edition. The cover story is part 1 of 2, so here are some of the “Locals We Love” from part 1. Be on the lookout for some more photos from part 2 and some Polaroid fun:) And if you read this before 7:30pm tonight head over to Fish restaurant for the launch party.

Survivors Celebration photo booth

This past Sunday we had the privilege of photographing the The Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Survivors Celebration for the Lowcountry breast cancer survivors. It is such a wonderful event, and great way to honor and celebrate life! We tried something new this year, and brought along our photo booth…we’re pretty sure it was a hit and hopefully we’ll be taking it back again next year:) We’ll post more photos from the event soon, but for now here are couple from the booth…

Pink in the Rink

This past Saturday the South Carolina Stingrays partnered with the The Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to fight breast cancer in the Lowcountry. They hosted the 4th annual Pink in the Rink. The ice was pink, the hockey sticks were pink, even the jersey’s were pink! Fun was had by all, and it was a full house with a record crowd of 6,801.
